• In late 2009, professional golfer Tiger Woods decided to take some time off from his career after the news was filled with allegations of extramarital affairs. He and his wife, Elin, had been married five years and had a preschool daughter and a baby son. The allegations began to surface in the media after Woods crashed his SUV into a tree outside his Florida home in November. Was it right for the media to parade Woods sex scandal and family life before the public? Or should his privacy been protected? Explain your answer.

• Actor Ronald Rittenberg (fictitious name) has a distinguished career of more than 20 years in motion pictures. Just last year he was nominated for a Best Actor award for his role in a Gulf War film. He has received other nominations and awards through the years. You are a news assignment editor for XYZ Television. An anonymous phone call advises you that while Rittenberg was vacationing in his RV in your county, he fell and broke or sprained his ankle. He reportedly is at the local hospital’s emergency room seeking treatment. Do you send a reporter and cameraman to the ER to find Rittenberg for a story? Or do you respect his privacy and let him pass through your community unnoticed? Explain your answer.
